Home / Announcements / How the Diocese of Arlington is Committed to Protecting Our Children

Today the Diocese of Arlington released a comprehensive report regarding how the Diocese protects children, reports abuse and assists victims of sexual abuse by members of the clergy:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, the Virginia Attorney General announced this week that he will be investigating allegations of sexual abuse of minors by clergy as well as how allegations of abuse have been handled by Church leaders throughout the Commonwealth. You are encouraged to go to ArlingtonDiocese.org/ChildProtection to read the statement that was issued by Bishop Burbidge and Bishop Knestout of the Diocese of Richmond. There, you will also find additional resources as well as a detailed answers to frequently asked questions regarding the critical issues we are facing within our Church.

Also, attached is a Q&A on the current crisis to help in answering questions.  This can also be found online: ArlingtonDiocese.org/ChildProtection.   A downloadable PDF can be found by clicking here.

Let us pray for one another during this difficult time.
