The Diocese of Arlington created the parish of St Jude as a mission church in 2003. Our beginnings were quite small and humble. At first, we gathered for Mass in a funeral home, then in a vacated gymnasium. Currently, we gather in a converted warehouse previously occupied by a power sports and motorcycle dealer. Through the years, our goal has been the same—to build a church we could call our home.
Construction of a new church will be expensive. It will cost millions of dollars. Our humble fundraising efforts have included raffles, bake sales, fish fries, Christmas tree sales, as well as our regular Sunday offerings, and two capital campaigns.
Would you help us build St Jude church? You do not need to be a parishioner here to help! St. Jude, the Apostle of Christ, is loved throughout the world as the Patron Saint of Impossible Causes. We welcome any contribution—great or small—to help build St. Jude church.
Donations can be mailed to St Jude Catholic Church, 9600 Caritas St, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 or made online through Faith Direct.
With your help, we look forward to the day when we can move into a permanent church building that we can proudly call our home! God bless you, and thank you!
